The sun is shining! Temperature rising! Snow melting away! Aslan is on the move!
Coach: "I only have 6 tokens. Will someone be willing to go without?" Kaylee raised her hand...
Coach: "Kaylee, you're willing to do without so the others can have one?" Kaylee: "Yes." Coach: "Kaylee, that's why you are getting the Christlikeness award today." (And she did get a token too.)
Normally, I stand diametrically opposite President Obama on most issues. But I liked this speech!
I could get cynical about this speech and say that President Obama simply realized that those who were seeking to politicize the event were not getting anywhere, so he gave this gracious speech. But I refuse to do that. I choose to take it at face value. I don't usually like to listen to him, but, imho, this was a high-water moment for the President!
This snow makes me miss old-timers (Mom, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa). I can almost hear them comparing this snow with snows from the past.
